Two-time Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman recently underwent treatment for cancer. His publicist, Jodi Gottlieb, reports that the cancer was “detected early and [Hoffman] has been surgically cured.” She added that he “is feeling great and is in good health.” Gottlieb declined to state the type of cancer Hoffman was treated for.
The 76-year-old actor is also set to undergo further preventative treatments to decrease the likelihood of the cancer returning.
Hoffman made his directorial debut last year with the comedy-drama, Quartet. Last month, he wrapped production on Chef, which co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Sofia Vergara. This fall, he will begin filming an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot alongside Dame Judi Dench and a feature film called Boys Choir.
