Four years after the release of Shrek Forever After, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg has hinted that a fifth installment to the Shrek franchise is on its way.
During an interview with Fox Business Network the CEO mentioned, “We like to let them have a little bit of time to rest. But I think you can be confident that we’ll have another chapter in the Shrek series.” Katzenberg continued, “We’re not finished, and more importantly, neither is he.”
To date the Shrek franchise has grossed $2.9 billion worldwide.
