Walt Disney Animation Studios announced on Thursday it will be making its first animated film based on a Marvel comic since its purchase of the comic book company back in 2009. The film is about a crime fighter series called Big Hero 6.
The film is an action comedy adventure about Hiro Hamada, a robotics prodigy, who finds himself entangled in a plot to destroy the high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With his friend Baymax, a robot, the duo join a team of crime fighters to help save their city.
Big Hero 6 will be directed by Don Hall, who previously directed Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. The movie is inspired by the 1998 Marvel series Sunfire & Big Hero 6 where a team of people with superpowers come together to save Tokyo.
Expect Big Hero 6 in theaters on November 7, 2014 in 3D!
