Disney Confirms ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Sequel
Disney announced in a livestream on Facebook Thursday that a sequel to Wreck-It Ralph is in the works and is slated to be released March 9, 2018.
Rich Moore, who directed Wreck-It Ralph, will return to direct the sequel alongside Phil Johnston, who co-wrote the first film. John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman will also be returning to voice Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz, respectively.
Disney also gave a peek at the concept art for the film:

“It’s top secret but I’ll tell you this much… Ralph leaves the arcade and wrecks the Internet,” Reilly said of the film’s plot. “What could go wrong?”
“From the moment we started working on the first Wreck-It Ralph, we knew there were so many possibilities with these characters,” Moore said in a statement. “This time, Ralph’s wrecking wreaks havoc on the Web—as only he can do. Characters we loved in the first film are back and we are ecstatic to be working with them—and the actors who voice them—once again.”
“The world of the internet is the perfect place to send Ralph and Vanellope,” Johnston stated. “The scope and scale are so vast and the possibilities for comedy are endless.”
In 2012, Wreck-It Ralph grossed $189 domestically and $471 million worldwide. It was nominated for an Oscar for best animated feature, but lost to another Disney film, Brave.
