Disney Announces ‘Frozen Fever’ Short Film

Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced plans for Frozen Fever, an upcoming short film set to debut in spring 2015.

The short film will feature characters from the most successful animated movie of all time, welcoming back Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and the beloved snowman Olaf. Kristin Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad are expected to return for the short to voice their characters.

The husband and wife songwriting duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who received an Oscar for the Frozen hit “Let It Go,” will be contributing a brand-new original song.

“In Frozen Fever, it’s Anna’s birthday, and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever. But Elsa’s icy powers might put more than just the party at risk,” said Disney in its announcement.

The Frozen spinoff will be directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho.

The announcement was made during ABC’s behind-the-scenes special The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic, which aired last night (September 2nd).

Be on the lookout for Elsa and Anna in ABC’s hit series Once Upon a Time, which returns for its fourth season on Sunday, September 28th.
