Yates is sticking with the world of Harry Potter.
Recently, J.K. Rowling announced that she plans for the new Harry Potter spinoff film series Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them to consist of five films. Now, director David Yates reveals that he plans to helm all five films.
Yates, who directed the final four films of the Harry Potter series, revealed the news to the Hollywood Reporter.
“I love making films, and I’ve got a great team, all of whom are like family,” he said to the Hollywood Reporter. “I only look at it movie to movie.”
The first film hits theaters this month on November 18 and follows magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), who inadvertently brings chaos to 1920’s New York when some of his magical creatures escape.
The sequel is set to be released November 16, 2018 and will co-star Johnny Depp.
