Walt Disney Studios is currently developing a film following how Walt Disney (the person) came to build the infamous California theme park, Disneyland. The film will premiere on Disney Plus as reported by Variety.
The History of How Disneyland Came to be
Disneyland first opened in Anaheim, California during the summer of 1955. It then earned its rightful nickname “The Happiest Place on Earth.” Since the first theme park was successful, more parks opened up worldwide. Some of the other Disneyland locations are in Florida, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong. However, the original destination remains the only park constructed under the supervision of Walt Disney himself.
Disneyland is the biggest entertainment destination that has grown more popular as it expands. Thus, numerous attractions have turned into renowned motion picture films. With Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion among those attractions becoming inspired flicks. Disney’s most famous film franchises like Star Wars’ Galaxy Edge and Marvel’s Avengers Campus have made for popular themed areas across the park.
This is not the first time Disney has tried to make this type of film. In 2013, the studio came out with a movie about the triumphs of Walt Disney. Tom Hanks portrayed the founder in the film titled Saving Mr. Banks. It captured the entrepreneur/ film producer’s pursument to land rights to Mary Poppins.
