Austin, Tex., is a city with a motto that reads “Keep Austin Weird.” Well, weird got a little peculiar when director Tim Burton (Batman, Alice in Wonderland) made his arrival to the state capitol to attend the twelfth annual Fantastic Fest film festival. His latest film, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, is one of the spotlight features and as a special token to Burton’s contributions to cinema and keeping things weird, the city of Austin declared September 25 as “Keep Austin Peculiar” Day.
Tim Burton was given a proclamation by writer-director Robert Rodriguez (El Mariachi, Spy Kids).
