Latino Review is reporting that Marvel is currently considering to cast Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler in the upcoming Marvel film “Guardian of the Galaxy”. There’s no word yet on which roles each funnyman would play or whether each is being considered for the same role.
Guardians of the Galaxy will be the first movie to introduce new superheroes to Marvel’s Phase Two line-up. It’s reported that the film will likely deal with the villain Thanos, who was previously introduced at the end of the The Avengers. Character in the upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy include Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon and Gamora.
Other actors being considered for the part of Peter Quill (also known as Star-Lord) include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jim Sturgess, Zachary Levi, John Krasinski, Eddie Redmayne, Lee Pace and Joel Edgerton. It is reported that Sandler and Carey may do voice overs for two of the non-human members in the film.
Guardians of the Galaxy is due in theaters on August 1, 2014.
