Brangelina Reunite On Big Screen For First Time In 10 Years
Ten years since 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be reuniting in Jolie’s next directorial feature By The Sea.
Set in the 1970s, the drama follows an American writer named Roland (Pitt) and his wife, Vanessa (Jolie), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in France, their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend time with fellow travelers, including young newlyweds Lea (Mélanie Laurent) and François (Melvil Poupaud), and village locals Michel (Niels Arestrup) and Patrice (Richard Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.
The mother of six, who penned the script, said in a statement, “This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love and the path to recovery and acceptance.”
She continued, “It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew.”
Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley added, “Angie and Brad have created an intimate gem of a film that will surprise people and delivers an experience they might not expect from them. Universal is honored to market and distribute it to audiences around the world.”
By The Sea, which is slated to hit theaters November 13th, 2015, is Jolie’s third directorial gig after helming In the Land of Blood and Honey and Unbroken.
