Brad Pitt: Big Hollywood Pay Days Are Over

Its nothing new to hear that the economy has effected Americans in every way, but now the Hollywood’s biggest celebrities are being effected too.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Brad Pitt admitted that the big Hollywood pay days are over and that actors can no longer expect to earn multimillion dollar salaries.  Due to the global financial crisis, Hollywood just doesn’t have that kind of money anymore to pay their major stars like there is no tomorrow.

“It is a really interesting time in Hollywood at the moment” Brad mentioned. Actors must simply get use to the economic change.  Pitt’s fiancee Angelina Jolie insists that the monetary challenges can bring the best out of the film industry during an economic downturn.

When Pitt was asked if stars can still expect to get $10 million per movie? Brad responded with “Yeah, that thing died. That arithmetic doesn’t really work right now … that deal’s not flying these days.”

According to Forbes’ Top 10 Highest Earning Actors list released this past July, Pitt earned $25 million over the last financial year while Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol star Tom Cruise topped the list with $75 million.
