Beyoncé Wants To Direct

Add director to the list of titles for singer Beyoncé Knowles. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the pop songstress is in talks to direct and star in a documentary of her life and career.

According to the report, her management company, ICM, is looking for distribution for the documentary that would include live concert footage as well as confessional style interviews. The same report also mentioned that 20 minutes of the prospective film has been shown to prospective distributors.

It is safe to say that the film would have a lot of content to draw from given the “superstar” status of the Houston born singer and actress. Knowles has mega platinum selling albums as both a solo artist and part of the very popular group Destiny’s Child. She has won 16 Grammy Awards from those projects. Beyoncé has also received accolades in the acting world from her Golden Globe nominated performance in “Dreamgirls” to  her 2008 portrayal of singer Etta James in the film “Cadillac Records.” A month after the film was released, Knowles performed the James’ song “At Last” at the inauguration ball of President Barack Obama.

In January of 2012, Knowles gave birth to her first child, Blue Ivy Carter, with husband Jay-Z.
