Top 5 Netflix Originals Worth Watching

Netflix has every show on the genre spectrum covered from tear-jerking rom-coms to action-thrillers that make you jump out of your seat. That’s right, we’re talking about their ORIGINAL shows. Obviously, Netflix has done its fair share of streaming movies and TV shows from other companies. However, they have developed their own shows that are definitely worth the watch. Here are 5 of the best Netflix originals shows to stream right now.

The Crown

This series follows the story of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign from the 1940s when she became Queen of England through the early 2000s. The show incorporates real-life events of the royal family with dramatic scenes and shocking details unfolding. Undoubtedly, the only thing separating the average person from the royal family is a title. Creator Peter Morgan portrays that idea well.

Big Mouth

The most relatable show about the horrors of adolescence. We’ve all been through it. This vulgar series uniquely portrays what a group of pre-teens go through on a daily basis as raging hormones course through their bodies. With both smart and hilarious ways to show how adolescents handle day to day life as they move toward adulthood, Big Mouth definitely makes for an interesting watch.

The Haunting of Hill House

Fortunately, this is not your average dramatic- horror show. The series’ plot alternates between two timelines following the story of a single family who relive the trauma of their paranormal experiences that continue to haunt them in present day. Additionally, they get flashbacks of events that lead to a hectic night in 1992 when they try to flee the mansion. This show will keep you on your toes.

American Vandal

This parody of a true crime genre follows two high schoolers who attempt to solve crimes. Unfortunately, the crimes turn out to be very stupid. Although this show is full of jokes, it carries some true commentary about life in high school. Moreover, the goofy crimes and interesting investigations make for a funny series to follow along with.

The Queen’s Gambit

This series tells about Beth Harmon, an orphaned chess prodigy on a mission to become the greatest chess player of all time. However, she has a battle with drug addiction to conquer first. With emphasis on the game of chess in each episode, her struggle with addiction amongst all other things in her life is a lot like the strategic game. Thus, you’ll feel like it’s your fight too.
