Ben Affleck has been cast to replace Christian Bale in the Batman-Superman movie being released in 2015, Warner Brothers announced Thursday.
Affleck will star opposite Henry Cavill, who starred in this summer’s “Man Of Steel” movie which grossed over $650 million worldwide.
Zack Snyder, who is set to direct the upcoming superhero film, released a statement saying, “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”
Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane have also been announced as part of the cast and will return in their “Man of Steel” roles in the upcoming movie.
