Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie has announced the next big directorial project she will be working on.
Her next directorial project will be a biopic called Africa, based on the true story of famed paleo-archaeologist Richard Leakey, a fossil hunter who was involved in a violent battle with elephant poachers in the late 80’s.
This will be Jolie’s fourth film to direct and will reunite her once again with cinematographer Roger Deakins. Skydance Productions’ David Ellison and Dana Goldberg are confirmed to produce, alongside with Jolie, and the group has already discussed their expectations for Africa.
“I know that it will exceed my expectations in Angelina’s hands. She is an incredibly talented filmmaker and is sure to turn Eric Roth’s impeccable script into the project I’ve always wanted Skydance to be involved in,” said Ellison.
Jolie is currently working on her third film, By The Sea, with husband Brad Pitt, set for release in 2015. Her second directorial project, Unbroken, will release Christmas Day.
