‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Pulls In $140 Million in Six Days

The Amazing Spider-Man had a huge opening weekend making $65 million from Friday to Sunday. That makes the total for the film’s first six days in U.S. theaters at $140 million. The movie has made a reported $341.2 million worldwide.

Its opening day earnings set a record for a Tuesday opening pulling in $35 million on July 3. On Wed., July 4 the film pulled in another $23 million.

According to Deadline, Ted is now passing 2009’s The Hangover as the biggest R-Rated comedy and came in second this weekend with $32.5M. Brave 3D was third with $20.1M. Oliver Stone’s Savages came in fourth with $16.1M. In its second week Magic Mike was fifth with $15.6M. Madea’s Witness Protection came in sixth $10.2M. Madagascar 3 3D was seventh with $7.7M. Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D landed in eight, pulling in a disappointing $7.1M. Moonrise Kingdom ($4.6M) and To Rome With Love ($3.5M) rounded out the bottom.
