The Jackie Robinson biopic 42 earned the number one spot at the box office this past weekend. Starring Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford, 42 earned $27.2 million and has been receiving positive reviews and ratings from critics.
Scary Movie 5 landed in second place with $15.2 million in its opening weekend. The film could be the final nail in the coffin for the franchise due to receiving almost entirely negative reviews.
The Croods took third place and continues to add to its box office total The film has grossed $143 million in 4 weeks. G.I. Joe: Retaliation took fourth place and earned over $102 million at the box office while the Evil Dead remake dropped to 5th place – having earned $41.5 million in two weeks.
