“300: Rise of an Empire” dominated its opening weekend at the box office, both domestically and internationally.
The “300: Rise of an Empire”, opened up #1 at the box office post-Oscars weekend grossing $45.1 million domestically and $87.8 million internationally. It has been seven years since the first “300” film was released, which debuted at $70 million and eventually earned $456 million worldwide back in 2007.
“Rise of an Empire” dominated its competition at the box office placing the debut of “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” at #2 with $32.5 million, “Non-Stop” went from #1 to #3 with $15.4 million, “The LEGO Movie” at #4 with another $11 million and “Son of God” landing at #5 with $10 million this weekend.
