A third installment of the 21 Jump Street franchise is officially in the works.
Sony Pictures and Original Film have officially begun working on 23 Jump Street with Rodney Rothman returning as the screenwriter who will also be co-producing with Neil Moritz.
In the credits of 22 Jump Street they poked at the idea of making more sequels, 22 in fact. Schmidt and Jenko would be given the assignment to go to Russia, medical school, culinary school and even go to a ninja academy undercover. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are the stars of the franchise, but have not yet confirmed if they will sign on to reprise their roles in 23 Jump Street. However it is reported that Tatum and Hill will be producing the third installment alongside Moritz.
21 Jump Street made about $200 million worldwide and the sequel, 22 Jump Street, grossed a whopping $320 million on a $50 million budget. If the third installment is based off of the credits at the end of the sequel, 23 Jump Street is suppose to follow Schmidt and Jenko in medical school.
