The 88th Annual Academy Awards aired Sunday night with Chris Rock serving as host. All throughout the evening, Rock made jokes about the controversy over the lack of diversity in the Oscar nominees this year, which included a few pre-recorded bits.
“Mad Max: Fury Road” was a big winner of the night, taking home six Oscars. However, “Spotlight” managed to take the top prize of the night – Best Picture. Leonardo DiCaprio finally won his first Oscar for his role in “The Revenant,” and Alejandro G. Iñárritu became the first director to win an Oscar two years in row, this time for “The Revenant.” Last year, he won for “Birdman.”
