Twitter Gets A Facelift, Looks A Lot like Facebook
Today Twitter introduced a new design for users’ profile pages, and it looks very familiar.
The new profile includes a custom header photo displayed at the top of the page, above a larger profile picture. The new layout strongly resembles the look of a Facebook profile, with the new feature essentially looking like a Facebook cover photo.
In addition, the Twitter profile will allow users to pin certain tweets to the top of their page along with tweets with the most retweets. Favorites will be slightly bigger than other tweets so they are easier to find. Users will also be able to filter tweets when viewing another person’s timeline by tweets, tweets and replies, or tweets with photos/videos.
So far, the new profile is only available for a small number of people, including Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, John Legend, Weezer, and First Lady Michelle Obama. Over the next few weeks, the new features will gradually become available to all Twitter users.
