Earlier this month, a tourist on an African safari received an up close and personal visit from three lionesses.
Francie Lubbe was camping in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in southern Africa when three lionesses approached her tent and began licking the water off of the mesh of the tent. There had been heavy rainfall the night before, leaving drops of water on the mesh.
Lubbe was inside the tent at the time and recorded video of the lionesses, who were inches away from her. She managed to remain quiet and calm.
“What a privilege,” Lubbe wrote on Facebook about the experience.
