Former Motorhead guitarist Michael “Wurzel” Bruston passed away from ventricular fibrillation on Saturday at the age of 61.
The news was first announced by Lemmy’s bass tech, Tim Butcher, who posted the news on his facebook page:
“RIP Wurzle, Great guitarist and a complete gent… we will miss you”.
Wurzel joined the British heavy metal band back in 1984 after retiring as a corporal from the British Army. He tried out for Motorhead alongside another unknown guitarist at the time, Phil Cambell, and both players were brought on.
The rest is history.
