Milli Vanilli Singer Attempts Comeback…Again

Fab Morvan, the lead singer of pop duo “Milli Vanilli”, is attempting yet another comeback into the music industry. Prior to their infamous lip-synching incident, Milli Vanilli had sold over six million albums and been awarded a Grammy for “Best New Artist”.

The Grammy is gone, their reputation forever tarnished, yet Fab “Vanilli” Morvan is adamant of making a name for himself again.

According to Fab’s website, he has teamed up with Universal Pictures to create a motion picture about “his return to the music world as not just the singer, but a writer and performer.” He is also working with Eminem’s tour DJ, the Alchemist, and DJ Tiesto to release a solo album in collaboration with the upcoming movie.

This is not the first time he has attempted a comeback though, previously releasing the solo album “Love Revolution” in 2003.

Why now?

It has been 20 years since the trial and settlement that resulted in the refund of all concert tickets and album sales ever purchased by Milli Vanilli fans. So maybe its something to celebrate. Either that or he has been taking singing lessons for the past twenty years.

Will new movie be enough to revitalize his career?

Now the movie has a pretty sick pre-production line-up with writer Jeff Nathanson (The Terminal, Catch Me If You Can) on the script and Kathleen Kennedy (Jurassic Park, Benjamin Button) as producer but unless Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt are in the cast and Vanilli isn’t singing the soundtrack, the movie will probably be a flop. I just don’t think there is enough interest anymore in the 1980s pop group.

Maybe I’ll get proven wrong. We’ll see.
