Vincent Piazza & Genesis Rodriguez on Filming CENTIGRADE

At -40° your lungs freeze…Time is running out

There are five words placed on thriller movies that instantly give the trauma on the screen a sense of grounded realism. Based. Upon. A. True. Story. Audience members will sit up in their seat. They will drive home and look up the aftermath of the individuals involved in the story. They will insert themselves in the film and ponder how they would have reacted differently. Centigrade cements itself as real life thriller.

Centigrade weaves the story of a married couple who become trapped after a blizzard and freezing temperature beset their vehicle. Now, while the set for the movie may be simple, the acting environment is far from it. While other films visit several countries and differing set designs, this movie was filmed inside of a cramped car. Once again proving that set design can be as crucial as any character in a film. Ignore it, and you’re robbing the audience of their favorite possible personality. Not only filmed in the cramped vehicle, it was also filmed in cold weather. Both these factors playing into the minds of the actor, drawing out strong performances needed to carry the film.
