Stan Lee is a living legend. Essentially the father of contemporary comics, Stan is the award-winning co-creator of such legendary characters as Spider-Man, the Avengers, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Daredevil and the X-Men. After a start writing backup features at Timely Comics, which would ultimately morph into Marvel, Stan eventually was tasked to create a new superhero team. With Jack Kirby, Stan gave birth to the Fantastic Four, and the rest, as they say, is history. Stan went on to become President and Chairman of Marvel Comics, as well as something of a pop culture icon. Through his work with artists such as Kirby and Steve Ditko, Stan helped revolutionize comic books and, by extension, the world we live in. Excelsior!
