SPLIT: M. Night Shyamalan Says He Likes Scaring You

M. Night Shyamalan creates his most psychotic character yet.

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales went backstage with director M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense) to talk about the creative process of writing his newest psychological horror film Split.

“I like suspense and mystery a lot. That does tip over sometime into scaring people,” Shyamalan said before admitting to Morales that he does enjoy scaring people through his films.

Synopsis:

Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all of the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him — as well as everyone around him — as the walls between his compartments shatter.
