Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling & Anne Hathaway Talk Heists for OCEAN’S 8

The spin-off hits theaters this week!

Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and Anne Hathaway talk to BackstageOL about when they first found out they landed their Ocean’s 8 role and their infamous group text.

Directed by Gary Ross, the heist comedy is a spin-off from Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy and features a star-studded female cast that also includes Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter. The plot follows a group of women, led by the estranged sister of Danny Ocean, who plan on robbing the Met Gala.

The film’s synopsis:

Five years, eight months, 12 days and counting — that’s how long Debbie Ocean has been devising the biggest heist of her life. She knows what it’s going to take — a team of the best people in the field, starting with her partner-in-crime Lou Miller. Together, they recruit a crew of specialists, including jeweler Amita, street con Constance, suburban mom Tammy, hacker Nine Ball, and fashion designer Rose. Their target — a necklace that’s worth more than $150 million.
