Real Life Survivor Tami Oldham Ashcraft Talks ‘ADRIFT’

Tami talks about her experience, and what it’s like having Shailene Woodley portray her.

Adrift is based on the real-life story of Tami Oldham Ashcraft’s fight for survival after the boat she was sailing on was caught in a major hurricane. We sat down with Tami to talk about the harrowing experience and get her perspective on watching a film based on her life.

The film’s synopsis:

Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp couldn’t anticipate that they would be sailing directly into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history. In the aftermath of the storm, Tami awakens to find Richard badly injured and their boat in ruins. With no hope of rescue, Tami must now find the strength and determination to save herself and the only man she has ever loved.
