Octavia Spencer Talks ‘Gifted’ & Working With Chris Evans

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with Octavia Spencer in this backstage interview to talk about her role in Gifted, a drama directed by Marc Webb.

In the interview, Spencer dished about her character, Roberta Taylor, and what it was like to work alongside Chris Evans and McKenna Grace. “It’s not Chris Evans in the movie,” the actress explained. “It’s a departure from anything we’ve seen him do, which I love.”

Synopsis:

Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) – in a coastal town in Florida. Frank’s plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the 7-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s formidable mother, Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan), whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary.
