It’s morphin’ time!
BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with Ludi Lin (Black Ranger), Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger) Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger) in this backstage interview to talk about their roles in Power Rangers, the reboot of the iconic Power Rangers franchise.
In the interview, the actors discuss what they liked most about the coming-of-age story, with Lin highlighting the importance of diversity. He explained, “Diversity was a big point for me. Especially for my character, the cultural diversity and the authenticity of the culture – how he gets to speak proper mandarin.”
The trio continued to describe how while this is a reboot of the franchise, it is more of a continuation of the story. “There was a huge incentive from the creatives of the project to make it our own,” described Montgomery.
Synopsis:
Five ordinary teens must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
Power Rangers hits theaters this Friday, March 24th. Check out the full interview with Lin, Scott and Montgomery below:
