In the psychological thriller When the Bough Breaks, actress Jaz Sinclair takes on the role of a young woman named Anna who helps a young couple to have a baby by becoming a surrogate for them, but the couple is put in a dangerous situation when Anna ends up developing a psychotic obsession with the husband. BackstageOL’s Dave Morales got the chance to talk with Sinclair about auditioning for the role, which required her to act out a variety of emotions.
“I was thinking, ‘Wow, this is a lot to do in one audition. I’m going to do it one scene at a time,’” Sinclair said of the moment she walked in to audition for the film. “Because they had me do scenes from the beginning and the end. So I just had to show the whole range, and I just imagined that I was there. I just put myself in the situation. I just wanted to make it authentic. And I really felt what she was feeling.”
When the Bough Breaks hits theaters this weekend on September 9th.
