Ford reprises his 1982 role, with newcomer Ryan Gosling as Officer K.
BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in this backstage interview to talk about their sci-fi thriller Blade Runner 2049.
In the interview, Ford shared why he decided to reprise his role as Rick Deckard in Denis Villeneuve’s sequel to the 1982 original film by Ridley Scott, while Gosling explained what drew him to the script. Gosling joins the franchise as Officer K 35 years after the original film’s release.
The film’s synopsis:
Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years.
