Instant Family Director Sean Anders Talks Real-Life Inspiration for Film

The comedy, based on a true story, stars Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne.

Jon Stenvall travels to Dallas to sit down with Instant Family director Sean Anders to talk about his own experiences that inspired him to make the comedy with Mark Wahlberg and then gives his thoughts on the current state of the U.S. foster care system.

The film’s synopsis:

When Pete and Ellie decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child, but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15-year-old girl, they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight. Now, Pete and Ellie must try to learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hope of becoming a family.
