They talk LEGOs, piercings, Dustin Hoffman and more!
BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with Michael Cera and Zach Galifianakis in this backstage interview to talk about The LEGO Batman Movie.
The film, directed by Chris McKay, is a spin-off from the 2014’s The Lego Movie, focusing on the DC Comics character Batman. Cera and Galifianakis – who voice Robin and the Joker, respectively – said they had a great time working on the film.
“It’s an easy and fun job,” said Galifianikis, with Cera in agreement. “You get to yell and be stupid.”
The duo go on to discuss the difference between voice acting and live acting and what it’s like to be immortalized as LEGOs.
Synopsis:
There are big changes brewing in Gotham, but if Batman (Will Arnett) wants to save the city from the Joker’s (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) and loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) can show him a thing or two.
The LEGO Batman Movie hits theaters Friday, February 10th. Check out the full interview with Cera and Galifianakis below:
