Halle Berry Unravels ‘Moonfall’ Details

Moonfall star, Halle Berry, sits down with Dave Morales to discuss the details of her astronaut suit, how the pandemic relates to the film’s theme and much more in our latest interview about the upcoming movie.

Insight Into ‘Moonfall’

In a mission to save humanity after a mysterious force sends the moon out of orbit and straight into earth, NASA executive Jocinda Fowler (Berry) takes on the impossible task to preserve mankind. Additionally, Berry was recently featured in Bruised (2020).

The Experience of Playing an Astronaut in ‘Moonfall’

Berry has been on many missions before in her early acting career. However, she expressed that the feeling of playing an astronaut is exhilarating each time. “It was fun. I played an astronaut on a television show, so I knew what it was to be in that costume. It is the most fun to be in a suit like that,” she said. “I think It is so many peoples’ fantasy to really put that suit on and feel what that would feel like and pretend that you actually get to go into space.”

In the film, the moon and the Earth are set to collide and cause mass extinction. The theme of Moonfall seems fitting since the pandemic has also left uncertainty in all of our lives. “It made us think if this were really happening, is there anything that could be done? As we’re living through this pandemic, your mortality really comes into play and you realize that what it could take,” Berry shared. “Now it is a reality that something could happen that could snuff our lives away, that could end life as we know it and how vulnerable we are to that happening,” she added.

She later expressed how much we do not understand about the universe. “I believe maybe 8,000 years ago there might have been life here. What ended that life form and what did that look like? What did that feel like?”

Moonfall is out in theaters February 4. In the meantime, watch our full interview below!
