Ghostwriter is an upcoming family fantasy television series that places reading at the center of the story. A ghost seemingly haunts a neighborhood bookstore and starts releasing fictional characters into the real world. It’s up to four kids to team up and solve an exciting mystery surrounding the ghost’s unfinished business.

We talked to the cast of this show about the nature of the story and creating a show that the whole family can enjoy. Ghostwriter hearkens back a style of storytelling found in the 1990’s, where children are at the center of an adventure story. Legends of the Hidden Temple, Goosebumps, Salute Your Shorts, and more seemed to provide inspiration for this rebooted program.

Ghostwriter premieres Friday, October 10th, on Apple TV+.
