Elizabeth Banks: Playing A Villain In ‘Power Rangers’ Is Fun!

Banks talks Effie Trinket and how she fits the role of Rita Repulsa.

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with Elizabeth Banks in this backstage interview to talk about her role in Power Rangers, the reboot of the iconic Power Rangers franchise.

In the interview, Banks discussed how fun it was to play a villain and what it was like to transform into Rita Repulsa.

“She’s slightly unhinged, which I like about her,” she explained. “She’s an alien. She’s not just a bad villain, she has no idea of what’s even going on around her.”

Synopsis:

Five ordinary teens must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Power Rangers hits theaters this Friday, March 24th. Check out the full interview with Banks below:
