The highly anticipated summer blockbuster Jurassic World: Dominion makes its way to theaters on June 9. So, BackstageOL’s Dave Morales spoke with one of the stars of the film DeWand Wise on the magic and legacy of the films.
The Newcomer
A newcomer to the series DeWanda Wise spoke to Morales about her “wow” moment while filming. When asked “When did this get real for you?” Wise replied, “It’s not real yet.”
Fans will be surprised to know that Wise did not see her first Jurassic Park film until 2019 when she was cast for the film. However, when she did watch the first film she admitted that “it was terrifying.”
DeWanda Wise
Wise was in awe of the incredible technology it took to make the films. However, what surprised her most was a conversation with the legacy star of the series Laura Dern.
Wise was blown away by Dern and how casual she made filming the first Jurassic Park sound. “They were like, we’re making this one and done dinosaur movie…mmkay.”
Lastly Wise spoke of the lasting impact filming Jurrasic World: Dominion left on her. “What’s possible… the level of collaboration I had on it was like, oh I can be who I am and the kind of artist I am everywhere the sky is the truly the limit.”
