‘Collateral Beauty’ Star Michael Peña Shed A Tear When He Read The Script
Michael Pena stars in Collateral Beauty alongside a star-studded cast!
BackstageOL’s Dave Morales traveled to New York City to sit down with Michael Peña to talk about filming Collateral Beauty and more.
“I shed a tear for sure,” said Peña, when he first read the script for the drama. “I read it, and I was glad it was being made; there’s not a lot of movies like this that are being made. It reminds me a little bit of It’s A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street.”
The film’s official synopsis:
When a successful New York advertising executive (Will Smith) suffers a great tragedy he retreats from life. While his concerned friends try desperately to reconnect with him, he seeks answers from the universe by writing letters to Love, Time and Death. But it’s not until his notes bring unexpected personal responses that he begins to understand how these constants interlock in a life fully lived, and how even the deepest loss can reveal moments of meaning and beauty.
Collateral Beauty features a star-studded cast, including Will Smith, Kate Winslet, Jacob Latimore, Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren, Edward Norton, Peña and Naomie Harris.
