Chris Hemsworth: ‘Avengers 2’ Was Like A High School Reunion

Earlier this month, BackstageOL’s Dave Morales chatted with Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans about filming the hotly anticipated film The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

When asked if they were excited about the film, both expressed that they were indeed thrilled. “The best thing about these movies is that they’re good,” Evans stated.

“You can make a bunch of bad choices…in the rest of your career. It doesn’t matter,” Hemsworth added. “Hopefully, it just swamps everything else. I’m hoping it does that for a few things in my career,” he joked.

Hemsworth and Evans, who are taking on the role of Thor and Captain America respectively for the fourth time in the new film, discussed what it was like filming the sequel to The Avengers.

“You’re still trying to find your footing,” Evans said in regards to filming the first Captain America film and the original Avengers. “You want to make sure you’re not…the one ruining the film and you want to make sure the fans are accepting you in the role.”

“They’re still kinda like a high school reunion as opposed to the first day at school,” Hemsworth remarked on filming the sequel. “For me, it was first day at school, the first one. Nervous as hell, didn’t know anyone.”

“[Avengers: Age of Ultron] was a lot of fun,” Evans said. “It’s just fun. It’s like summer camp.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1.
