Split hits theaters this Friday!
Today we go backstage with Betty Buckley who stars in M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming horror film Split.
In the interview, Buckley explained the process of getting cast as Dr. Fletcher, the lead character’s (played by James McAvoy) trusted shrink. “They sent me the script and I was so smitten,” Buckley said as she relayed the story. “I had a big conversation with Night [Shyamalan] on the phone and he goes, ‘Oh, by the way, I wrote this with you in mind.’”
The Eight is Enough star continued, “The icing on the cake was getting to work with James McAvoy, who I’m a huge fan of…. It was a great joy to work that intensely with this brilliant actor.”
Synopsis:
Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all of the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him — as well as everyone around him — as the walls between his compartments shatter.
Split hits theaters Friday, January 20th. Check out the full interview with Buckley below:
