Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated horror thriller, Us, features an all-star cast. The film, due out March 22, stars Lupita Nyong’o and Black Pantherco-star Winston Duke, as well as Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker. As for the kids, meet Evan Alex and Shahadi Wright Joseph!
In the movie, The Wilson family road trip to sunny Santa Cruz when they are suddenly interrupted by another family of scissor-wielding doppelgängers.
Alex, who plays Jason and Pluto (his “Tether”), shared with us his audition process, meeting Peele for the first time, and landing the job. “He had sent me the script, and I got a callback… Then a couple weeks later, my mom got the call from Jordan Peele.”
His co-star, Joseph, plays Zora and Umbrae in the horror film. “It was kind of crazy,” she said on her audition process and her excitement to work on the film. “I didn’t even know that it was a Jordan Peele film, until I got a callback to go to LA to meet him. Jordan helped me go through the scenes, and what he really wanted for it. And it was really spectacular, just to work with him those 15 minutes.”
The actress will be starring in the upcoming Lion King remake from Disney, voicing young Nala, which will be released on July 19. She’ll be among more A-listers like Beyoncé, Donald Glover and James Earl Jones.
