‘Almost Christmas’ Stars David Talbert & Will Packer Reveal Their Christmas Wish List

A “ridiculous, new expensive car” is on our wish list, too!

Almost Christmas

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with director David Talbert and producer Will Packer in this backstage interview to talk about their upcoming holiday film, Almost Christmas – and to also find out what is on the top of their holiday wish list!

“[Almost Christmas] is based on my wife’s Christmases growing up,” said Talbert, who was raised in a family of pastors and preachers. “This is the kind of family that I think I would have wanted to, in many ways, been a part of… I get to live vicariously through this movie.”

The dynamic duo, Packer explained, partnered together in hopes of creating a holiday movie reminiscent of This Christmas – a film in which Packer also served as producer in 2007. He said, “I felt like we haven’t had a great holiday movie – especially with these kind of characters – since then.”

Almost Christmas features a star-studded cast that includes Gabrielle Union, Danny Glover, Mo’Nique, Omar Epps and more.

The film’s official synopsis:

A new comedy from writer/director David E. Talbert (“Baggage Claim”) and producer Will Packer (“Ride Along”, “Think Like a Man” series, “This Christmas”), “Almost Christmas” tells the festive story of a beloved patriarch who asks his family for one gift this holiday season: to get along. If they can honor that wish and spend five days under the same roof without killing one another, it will be a Christmas miracle.

Almost Christmas hits theaters on November 11th. Watch the full interview with Packer and Talbert below and find out what the pair want for Christmas this year. (Spoiler: Talbert wouldn’t mind “a ridiculous, new” Maserati!)
