The 9th Life of Louis Drax opens in theaters this weekend and centers on a nine-year-old boy named Louis Drax (Aiden Longworth) who has survived eight near-death accidents as well as a plunge off a steep cliff. Neurologist Dr. Allan Pascal (Jamie Dornan) attempts to uncover the truth about the boy’s curious condition. BackstageOL’s Dave Morales recently sat down with Aaron Paul, who portrays Louis’s violent father, to discuss the supernatural thriller.
“The story…the script was just…just took me on such a journey,” Paul said. “I could not put it down. First time I read it was on my phone, and I just kept flipping through the pages, and I couldn’t believe that this story was offered to me…I was just so excited to be able to dive into this world.”
“It’s such a psychological, intense thriller,” Paul added. “It takes you down so many twists and turns, and you never really know what’s going to happen next and it’s just so beautifully shot. And so, it’s really watching like a very kind of twisted painting come to life.”
