HBO Max Now Streaming on Snapchat

HBO Max content is now available to stream with family and friends on Snapchat thanks to a new deal between the streaming network and social media giant.

Love to watch shows like Euphoria and Titans on HBO Max but unable to get friends together for a watch party? Well fear no more, HBO Max has collaborated with Snapchat to stream full episodes to co-view with friends!

Where is it Offered?

The new feature is offered through the HBO Max Minis. Therefore, when launched through Snapchat (Snap Minis) the streaming platform then offers co-viewer interaction.

The Mini allows Snapchat users to watch full episodes of selective pilots within HBO Max for free. Additionally, viewers can invite up to 63 friends to join their watch party. HBO Max also becomes the first popular streamer to build a Mini that brings full episodes to Snapchat.

How it Works

Users can activate the HBO Max Mini via the rocket icon in the chat screen. Users can search the link in Snapchat as well. Next, there is a birthdate requirement needed to view the options. It appears age-appropriate episodes are being offered once finished. Then, users can send the link to their friends through an in-chat message. After the episode is over, viewers can interact and send reactions via Bitmoji. They are then presented with the option of subscribing to HBO Max to continue the series.

Complementing our incredible snap Originals and partnered content available on Discover.”

Why the Partnership with Snapchat?

Furthermore, the effort to gain new subscribers is key. WarnerMedia is hoping the pact with Snapchat will pay off with Snapchat’s estimated 93 million active users.

“People love to come together to watch their favorite HBO Max shows and talk about what’s unfolding,” said Sarah Lyons, HBO Max’s EVP of DTC global product management.

“Our partnership with Snapchat is another step towards fulfilling that desire for human connection… and providing our fans with co-viewing opportunities, while deepening their emotional relationship with the brand,” she adds.
