Netflix CEO Reed Hastings told investors that the company has ” no plans” to continue it’s gaming initiative after the company killed Qwikster.
Announced last September, the video game expansion was suppose to launch as a component to Qwikster. Qwikster was quickly killed though after customers rallied against the split of online streaming and mail-order service.
“Members have been asking for video games for many years, and now that DVD by mail has its own team, we are finally getting it done. Other improvements will follow,” Hastings had written on his blog last September.
Now it looks like Netflix will instead focus on expanding into streaming 3D films and television shows.
