‘Mob Wives’ Star Sues GTA V Creators, Claims Game Is Based on Her Life

Karen Gravano, former cast member of “Mob Wives” and daughter of the notorious mobster Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano, is suing the creators of Grand Theft Auto V. Gravano claims that the developers at Rockstar Games stole her image and life story when creating the Grand Theft Auto V character Antonia Bottino.

Like Gravano, Antonia Bottino is the daughter of a mobster-turned-informant. In the game, Antonia’s father Sammy Bottino was framed for murder and forced to live life on-the-run. After being captured, he helps the police bring down the mobster John Gotti as part of a plea bargain. Due to his status, Antonia’s father refused to allow her to star in the reality TV show “Wise Bitches”.

Gravano is suing Rockstar for $20 million in compensation, and another $20 million for punitive damages for the unauthorized use of her story.

The suit claims that the game’s creators never bothered to ask Gravano to use their likeness, which she would have granted them permission “with relative ease.”
