Halo 4 Receives Much Needed Redesign

The next installment in the Halo franchise will be receiving a complete overhaul after Bungie (who has manned the helm from the beginning) has decided to step back from its developmental involvement; the game will be picked up by 343 Studios. It is reported that 343 will be rebuilding the game from scratch, which will include graphical, audio, and musical face-lifts. Aside from these cosmetic revamps, Halo 4 will also be internally improved with added story and character depth.

Since Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach, it has been 5 years since the world has been able to play Master Chief John-117. Halo 4 promises to pick up where 3 left off, and “[delve] into Master Chief’s humanity, and what makes him tick as a character.” Without giving too much away, it has been reported that this story-line will be darker than what players have seen in previous Halo games and multiplayer levels will now tie in more closely to the main plot.

Details on gameplay have been kept hush, but more details will be released later this year. Critics have already expressed their excitement for the expansion of story line, which previous titles have been weak on, and the return of the beloved Battle Rifle–what are you most excited to see? Halo 4 is scheduled to be released just in time for the holiday rush; better tell Santa to pre-order for you–otherwise you might not be playing Halo this year.
