Game Releases: ME3, Street Fighter X Tekken and MLB 2K12

Ladies and gentlemen, today is the day:

Mass Effect 3

One of the most anticipated games of 2012 is finally here! The world has been abuzz with ME3 hype even since the release of Mass Effect 2.  As one of the best RPG’s out there, ME3 promises to deliver exactly what we expect–though there have already been a few reported and confirmed bugs as far as getting your game started.

If you’ve upgraded Xbox consoles since your last excursion as Commander Shepard, you will be unable to transfer your last saved game to your new Xbox via cloud service. In order to access previous saves you must transfer them manually through USB or transfer cable from your original Xbox hard drive.  Mass Effect producer Michael Gamble has also confirmed via Twitter that there have been reported issues importing your customized face of Commander Shepard. Apparently “the issue is likely in how faces were detected when imported from Mass Effect 1 into Mass Effect 2, and [producers are] working on the best way to correct it for affected players.” If you tweaked your appearance at all in ME2, you should be fine.

Aside from those minor setbacks, Mass Effect 3 has received rave reviews (9.5 from IGN) about the conclusive story line, gameplay, the use of Kinect, and as always, the stunning graphics. The final installment of the Mass Effect trilogy is now available for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Excitement doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Street Fighter X Tekken

Though this isn’t Capcom’s first rodeo when it comes to crossovers, it is the first in which they have specified what games will be crossing over. This release focus’ on Street Fighter’s POV, heavily saturated with Street Fighter gameplay and feel. It is reported that “there is a planned Tekken X Street Fighter game in development at Namco Bandai which will conversely focus more on Tekken’s style of gameplay.” Though that may not be a great idea in terms of fresh game ideas, this current release from Capcom has already scored a 9.0 with IGN complimenting it’s fast-pace and fluid action and evenly split roster.
